Volunteer opportunities with the Thomas Wolsey 550 Project

Do you fancy becoming a volunteer with the Wolsey 550 Team?

In 2023 dozens of local people supported the project celebrating Thomas Wolsey’s legacy for Ipswich by volunteering their time in a range of ways from photography to stewarding talks and exhibitions to helping build components for a cardboard college.

Once again, the Thomas Wolsey 550 project team is launching the search for volunteers to help with its ambitious summer programme.

In particular, volunteers are needed to:

  • Help with stewarding a huge parade along the Cardinal’s Route on 4th July
  • Practical help with the arrangements for a daytime outdoor classical concert on 29th June
  • Helping to run an indoor event for young people on 13th June
  • Welcoming guests to four Wolsey-themed talks in Ipswich in May and June

Training, expenses and the opportunity to get free tickets are on offer. No experience is required, just common sense, a love of meeting new people and the desire to give something back to our town.  New volunteers are welcome as well as those who helped last year – perhaps by stewarding the 2023 Wolsey’s Ipswich exhibition at The Hold.
